Hoo Are You?!? #48

1. Have you ever attended a professional sports game? YES! I have gone to a baseball game, basketball game, football game & gymnastics – All professional. I would say my favorite professional sporting event to go to is basketball.

2. Have you ever been to a concert and if so which one was your ultimate favorite performance? I have been to soo many! My all time favorite performer to see is Bon Jovi. I have seen them so many times and they are one of my favorite bands, but they never get old. Love them!

3. Have you ever been to Disneyland or Disney World? Disney World. Many times. I used to live in FL, and had a season pass there.

4. What is your favorite theme park? Magic Kingdom, probably. There really aren’t all that many to choose from.

5. Do you have a favorite vacation spot? I love my annual trips to Maine and Cape Cod. I love the ‘small town’ feel to them and the cute shopping.

driveway renovation

WARNING: picture overload

It would not be true Stefanie style if I actually remembered a before photo. Seriously, I have something wrong with me. I have no memory, and we obviously have no other pictures laying around with our driveway/bushes in them. Oh well.

Let me start from the beginning. LOOK AT THE PICTURE ABOVE. See the reddish tree? Well, that used to be on the right side of the driveway, right about where the reflection of the sign is. We moved that in the beginning of the spring and it actually lived. Hurray! Continuing to look at the above picture, see the gravel part on the right? That all used to be grass, with bushes on the outer sides. Ok. That is the before visual for you. Now this is phase one. Remove all of the bushes and get ready to expand driveways.

Before we could only fit one car, two if we pulled the first one ALL the way up (nearly hitting the steps). Now, we can fit 3, possibly 4. It is so nice. I really like the end result, it was very necessary.

&& the final product. I know it is darker out, but what do you think? See where all the bushes used to be?!? We raked and did yard work this weekend. YARD WORK! The snob in me is going to come right out and say that I have never in my life done yard work, and I will gladly keep it that way. What a workout! It was horrible. And HOTT! Never again.

don’t cry over broken glass

About two weeks ago on a Thursday, I came home to this. Shattered. Glass everywhere. I peered inside to see if there was a culprit, but saw no rock or anything. I was dumbfounded. I tried to walk over it and open the door, but glass continually flied out at me, so I waited for D to get home so he could help. It took about an hour to pick up, and that was with a shop-vac, I can only imagine how long it would have taken without one. Turns out the guy who cuts the lawn hit it with a rock. Go figure. A note would have been nice. It has been two weeks, and we still have glass in our front driveway area.

The weekend following this lovely diamonesque experience we went to go see Kid Rock & Sheryl Crow in concert. As soon as we parked we were in for a show. Three underage (teenage) girls got arrested for drinking. I almost felt bad. Almost. The concert was good. I really love Kid Rock. I know he is very white-trashy, but it really doesn’t change my opinion of him. He is such a great performer.

When we got home from the concert we were greeted by these furry little friends. We have a lot of bunnies and chipmunks in our area. I got so close to these and they didn't even care. They are fast little buggers though. Have you ever tried to catch one? Not. Happening.

We also were so lucky to see the biggest, grossest beetle I have ever seen. The picture really does not do it justice. The thing was HUGE. It was right near the door to get in the house, and we didn't want to risk it coming in, so D had to ‘let it go.’ So sad. I wonder what the life expectancy is of a bug like that?

baby boy.

I am alive. I have been gone for a while, but I apologize. I am far busier in the summer than I think I am, and have just not had a minute to upload and edit pictures, so here I am.

I did this newborn session about a month ago. It was my first, and a learning experience. I am very happy with some of the photos, but wish I took more.

Let me know what you think.

HOO Are You?!? #47

I am very excited, my Dad flies in tonight from sunny FL. He will be here until Sunday. Today I am linking up again to night owl crafting for another week of Hoo Are You?!?

1. Are you enjoying the summertime? OF COURSE, silly question. I would enjoy it more if I had summer vacation still. Oh, to be a kid again.

2. What activities have you done in the last week? Cleaned, grocery shopping, worked. Noting too exciting, I am so tired after work I don’t really do much.

3. What types of food do you tend to eat more of in the summer? Hot Dogs. Hands down. We have them at least once a week.

4. How much time are you spending outside? Not as much as I would like.

5. Is there any fun projects you are working on inside or outside your house? We Just got our driveways re-paved, even though we didn’t do it, it was still an outside project. Other than that, nothing really right now, we have been really busy.

Gift Exchange

Remember when I mentioned I was going to be participating in the handmade gift exchange?!? Well, I did. It was fun. More stressful, but still fun. It took me three tries, but I finally made this cute zippered pouch for my partner Tracy. I really hope she liked it.

After talking back and fourth with her and getting to know her a bit (sweetheart, I might add), she mentioned that she still has not been able to tackle zippers, so I decided I wanted to make her something using a zipper. Since I am a newby-sewer, this wasn't a walk in the park for me either. The first one, I didn't like. I had no particular reason why, I just didn't like it. Then the second one, as you may remember did NOT line up properly and was not working. I was very bummed, because I really liked those fabrics. I finally got it together for the third and final one, and was very pleased with the product. I put a lot of time and hard-work into this, and it may not be as big/fancy as what she gave me, but I do really hope she still likes it. (I will do better next year future partner, I swear).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In exchange, Tracy made me this wonderful coupon binder! Seriously, how cool is it? She knew I was into couponing, by reading my blog and decided to make me a binder fully equipped with front pockets to store pens and excess stuff. I just LOVE it. Thank you so much Tracy!

&& Thank you Linda for holding this exchange and helping fellow bloggers get to branch out of their comfort zone and meet other people!

4th of July Festivities

So, like I said before, I forgot my camera this weekend a lot, and I was bummed. My best friend up and left me and moved to Delaware. Hopefully it wont be for long. Delaware is like the smallest state. or maybe RI is, I dunno, still both equally as boring.

caught him spying on me.

Annnyway, she was here for a day. A DAY. Seriously, who does that?!? So what better way to show my love for her than take her to a carnival and fireworks? It was fun, and I loved it, but I have no pictures. Super bummed. BUT, Don played this dart game and won me a stuffed animal. I wanted to play, but I also wanted to win, so I opted out and let him just win for me. Those carnies are crooks, $20 to win this stupid thing. I gave it to Emmy, but still, the thought that counts.

she really liked it. already broke it too, girl has a gift.

On Sunday I did some sewing (on a top secret project that I will inform you about next week) and we went to go see Transformers. Man those movies are loooong.  Still good though, I love that series. Shia cracks me up, but I have a silly sense of humor, cause Don doesn’t seem to think he is all that funny.

For the actual 4th we had a small BBQ and went to the fireworks just the two of us cause our plans fell through. It was still fun, very hott out. All in all, a low-key 4th, but still very nice. I wish we had just one more day off, but oh well. Soon enough I will be on vacaytion! Woo hoo!

HOO Are you?!?

So I am kinda bummed because I forgot my camera a lot this weekend. I missed our on some really great photo ops, but just spaced out and forgot to bring it. oh well, live and learn, right?!? I will be posting more about the weekend later when I go through the pictures that I DO have. urgh.

Linking up again this week to night owl crafting.

1. How did you spend the 4th of July? during the day Don washed and cleaned the cars (much needed) and I did some sewing. We had a small BBQ with his family, then we went to the fireworks. Very low key, nothing fancy.

2. What was a couple of your favorite things you ate for the 4th of July? Depasquales sausage. So delicious.

3. Did you watch fireworks? OF COURSE! we went to two different fireworks, one on Saturday and one on Monday.

4. What is your favorite firework? Well I don't know the names of actual fireworks, so I guess I am going to go with Sparklers.

5. How hot was it where you were for the 4th? Pretty hot. I would say in the high 80’s. There was NO breeze.
